McCarthy brings to its clients 23 years of proven structural engineering experience. Our structures have stood the test of time and numerous hurricanes including Andrew (1995), Opal (1995), Ivan (2004), and Charlie (2004)  just to name a few.  Established in 1985, the firm performs analysis, design and construction inspection of both new and renovation building projects. Projects range in size from smaller renovations and additions to large high rise commercial buildings and are located throughout the United States and the Caribbean.

Each new project is carefully evaluated to determine the most efficient and cost effective structural system. To accomplish this, we draw on our vast experience of all types of construction including the common systems such as steel joists, wood trusses, and masonry; and the more complex systems such as post-tensioned concrete, lift slab, heavy timber, space frames, long span systems, thin shell domes, tilt-up panel, and tunnel form construction.

McCarthy also provides special inspections on their state designated threshold projects.  McCarthy has been conducting threshold inspections for over 20 years and at any given time is providing this service on about 6 to 10 projects.  Due to our extensive knowledge of the intricacies of each building, we are able to recognize, resolve and expedite any field issues immediately.  McCarthy has four special inspectors certified by the State of Florida.

The Clearwater office has a full-time staff of seventeen, including four registered professional engineers, three structural designers, three construction field representatives, four CAD designers, a business manager and a secretary.  Structural designs are produced on state-of-the-art analysis and design software.

In July 2001 McCarthy opened our Delray Beach office to better serve some of our clients on the east coast.  Our Delray Beach office has a full-time staff of three, including one professional engineer.
