July 7, 2008, Bonita Springs, FL - Bonita Springs Retirement Village, McCarthy and Associates has been selected as the structural engineer for the new Bonita Springs Retirement Village in Bonita Springs, Florida. The project includes a 6 story independent living building with a 4 story assisted living building along with a one story commons building totaling approximately 400,000 sf. The project Architect is AG Architects of Wauwatosa, Wisconsin.
April 10, 2008, Orlando, FL - During the week of March 31, 2008 to April 4, 2008 McCarthy and Associates, Inc. was represented at the National Hurricane Conference in Orlando, FL by Faith Elliott, an engineer with our firm. We hosted an exhibit where we presented our firm's experience in Category 5 building design and hurricane vulnerability evaluations. McCarthy will also participate in the Governors Hurricane Conference in Fort Lauderdale in May.
April 2, 2008, Clearwater, FL - Christoverson Humanities Building: McCarthy and Associates has been named as the structural engineer on another Florida project for Robert A.M. Stern Architect, New York, NY. This is a three story classroom and office building at Florida Southern College in Lakeland, Florida.
November 8, 2007, Clearwater, FL - Bella Terra on the Bay Senior Housing, McCarthy has been selected as the structural engineer for the new Bella Terra on the Bay Senior Housing project in Clearwater, Florida. The project includes a large 3 and 4 story building along with some cottages totaling approximately 500,000 sf. The project Architect is Three of Dallas, Texas.
August 31, 2007 - First Baptist Church of Brandon, Florida is undergoing a $4 million renovation of its sanctuary building overseen by McCarthy with Lafferty Architecture Group.
August 13, 2007, Lakes Wales, FL - Lake Wales Senior Housing, McCarthy has been selected as the structural engineer for the new Lake Wales Senior Housing project in Lake Wales, Florida. The project includes a large 2 and 3 story building along with some villas totaling approximately 180,000 sf. The project Architect is Genesis Architecture of Minneapolis, Minnesota.
July 23, 2007 - McCarthy has been named as the structural consultant on a new $20 million Public Works Responder's Building for Pinellas County, Florida that will be designed for Category 5 Hurricane winds.
June 30, 2007, St. Petersburg, FL - Eckerd College. McCarthy has been retained as the lead firm for Hurricane Assessment Program under a FEMA Grant. This is a joint venture with nationally recognized hurricane and flood experts.
May 7, 2007 - McCarthy has welcomed Graham Clift to the Clearwater office as construction administrator.
February 7, 2007 - McCarthy is the structural consultant with Hoffman Architects for the new 60,000 sf First Christian Church in Trinity, Florida.
January 24, 2007 - McCarthy is pleased to announce the addition of Pam Spidel to our Clearwater office staff. Along with administrative duties, Pam will be responsible for marketing for both offices.

January 1, 2007 - Mr. McCarthy has been appointed to serve a second 2-year term on the Pinellas County Construction Licensing Board.
March 28, 2006, Lakeland, FL - Florida Southern College Residential Life Center. Robert A.M. Stern Architects of New York, NY has selected McCarthy as their structural consultant on three new student housing buildings at a campus originally designed by Frank Lloyd Wright.
